Why is there an Amazon Kindle Store on the MCM Home Page?

MicroChip Music was founded on the concept of identifying useful technology, understanding its application and usage, then providing a channel to educate a new audience on how it can be used along with a path to obtain the hardware and/or software necessary for implementation. The Kindle is one of those technologies.

When the device first came out, I recognized the fact that this would revolutionize how the world reads books. The idea was immediately embraced, but then stalled on availability. The initial cost was prohibitive to many. But the concept was now in the market place. The eBook concept was already all over the net, but required a laptop or PC to be of any use. Because eBooks were so rampant, there was also no standard point of organization and access. Amazon resolved this issue by creating a hardware reading device that provided a storage platform, a purchasing platform and a service so that any person of ANY technical level could easily and instantly search, download and KEEP a book for immediate reading. The application of this type of technology spans from frequent flyers being able to carry all of their library along when they travel, to consultants having a complete technical reference available on every jobsite. In short, whatever it is that you read can be accessible at all times.

Initially, this was a great idea with limited content. Since then, Amazon has grown, the Kindle library has grown, the Internet has grown and the general public has become more technically savy to be able to put all this to use. With the additional growth of the SmartPhone and Apple's /iPod/iPhone/iPad offerings, the Kindle App has further extended this audience and accessibility. The Kindle concept has now been embraced in the marketplace and realized as an acceptable, viable and efficient reading medium.

Add to this the concept that YOU can now write a book, then publish it to the entire world and now you have a technology that makes an ARTISTIC DIFFERENCE. This point satisfies the core beliefs of why I created MicroChip Music and why I am proud to offer and endorse the Kindle as the first product line in
MicroChip Music's Amazon store.

I am currently in the process of exploring the Kindle publishing process, as well as expanding the MCM Amazon store to a wider range of useful and significant items and categories. I welcome suggestions and comments.
